Phyllis Jo Kubey


Bio

Phyllis Jo Kubey, EA CFP®, NTPI Fellow, has offered tax preparation/planning, representation, and consultation services since 1986. She specializes in IRS and state tax-related representation – audits, collection, non-filing cases, etc. – and has particular expertise in areas relating to musicians, actors, artists, non-resident alien tax issues, U.S. citizens working abroad, same-sex couples, and clergy.

A strong advocate for IRS/practitioner dialogue, she served on the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC) from 2017-2020 (subgroup chair 2018-2020). She testified on behalf of NAEA before the U.S. Senate Finance Committee on IRS reform. 

Phyllis serves as the Immediate Past President of the New York State Society of Enrolled Agents (NYSSEA), Chairs NAEA’s Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee, and is Secretary of the NAEA PAC Board. Phyllis is Vice President of Voices of Ascension, a fine NYC-based professional choral ensemble and serves on Carnegie-Mellon University’s College of Fine Arts Dean’s Council.
